The Mantlemourne Primordials refer to the four Primordials of the Matter States who had their Mantles taken from them irrevocably by the Old Fey Monarchs when they created the Crowns of the Fey and made the Seasons. **Plasma: Orion the Flamebearer - Primordial Spirit of Truth** Disambiguation: Solus/Ifrit - Primordial Spirit of Aspiration/Ambition Last seen leaving Neo Mukai to stop the sun from going supernova. Current status and whereabouts unknown, although current theories stand that he may have become a Nexus Guardian for Mukai as per the visions granted through the most recent Neo Mukai realm shard. Orion is the second Primordial of Plasma, as the specific metaphysical mechanics of his taking on the mantle after the defeat of Ifrit in combination with his status as a (suspected) Mystic and the approval of the other Mantlemourne Primordials made him ascend a step further than the mantleholder transformation typically would. At present, we have effectively no real information regarding the identity of Orion before taking the Mantle and becoming the Primordial Spirit, but current theories run that he may have originally been one of the Mystics who worshipped under Drakaina, the First Watcher, Spirit of Truth, as when becoming Orion and accepting the Mantle, he took on the epithet Spirit of Truth. While many scholars believe his title to mean more in a sense of Illumination or Guidance, and that this is where the verbiage “Fire reveals all” or “Truth is revealed in the light” originates, the Soulforge does translate the title specifically and solely as Truth (although for reasons that we obviously cannot infer). We do know that Orion was an early Dreaming traveller, albeit it is unsure if he was from a specific realm or some other origin. We also know that upon taking the mantle, he took it upon himself to become “the protector of this world.” We are unsure if this particularly means the Dreaming or the entire Universe. Additionally, while we do not know what specifically is used on a crafting level to invoke Orion for the purposes of a Pact, there was one story referenced in the book on the mantle handover between Solus/Ifrit and Orion in which Orion came across a shrine to the Underworld, specifically one that bore the likeness of Hel, Queen of the Underworld and he paid respects there by ripping a cabbage leaf in half, like a farmer’s offering, and taking a drink of Sacred Mead. This may have been either the inciting incident for the blessing given by her of the Erebus arrows or in response to it. Note: while the items themselves have not been visible in any vision of Orion, when he was shown in R.I.Ps and T3MP3STs of the Mantlemourne arriving in Mukai, he did have three motes of light on his belt, one on each hip and one in the centre. **Gas: Nimbus the Stormdancer - Primordial Spirit of Renewal** Current status [12/24] unknown, because the Architect has been served papers and the windmill is now splinters at absolute Most, and I’m pretty sure that RIP nuked whatever machine was generating the shielding and boy I hope that wasn't one of the fey artifacts because if so, It Has Been Nuked. Completely and absolutely insane, generally unreasonable, and entirely murderous. Currently holding the Architect captive “in the eye of a hurricane, in a windmill” because something he created is driving her insane due to its similarities to the “artifacts of the fey”, which we can safely assume to be the four sacred items of Tir Na Nog. <- Information Out Of Date Considered one of the more Complex Primordials, she came into being sequentially after Solus. She gave the world sound and with it, the ability to play music, as well as being credited with coining the term Song of Creation (although it is unclear to what degree she was involved in that topic otherwise) and with giving the Breath of Life to Realms (with mythology stating that the first and last breaths a person takes are a gift from her). In terms of more overt powers, she is capable of phasing into a ghostly form and through objects (like a gas), whispering at any distance at all, and perfectly imitating the voices of others. She was also able to transform the gifts of the other three Matter State Primordials in her own sphere (generally expressed primarily through weather events) to create greater miracles: firestorms with Plasma, acid rain with Solid, or hail with Liquid. The aforementioned extreme weather phenomena were most commonly created/performed when she was angry. It is said she could control the skies as when the Fey took the Mantle from Rusalka, the first of the four to be taken, Nimbus brought down the skies in an act of vengeance. Also apparently capable of fully just murdering a guy at a touch and then controlling the ghost version of him (and a lot of other ghosts, probably also x999 dudes but details remain unknown on account of Being Ghosts Who Were Trying To Kill Us) to come try and kill us, which I did Not appreciate. Nimbus was described as being the most happy and jovial amongst the four Primordials. She would frequently give Atlas her mantle and objects temporarily so she could enjoy life as a mortal and would become invested in mortal lives & would eavesdrop on people. She loved gossip, relationships (especially matters of the heart, at least what one “fan writer would say”) and is said to have witnessed many famous relationships (at the time period) blowing up. In terms of worship: She was documented as being worshipped by Diophase even after losing her mantle (only recorded name that we could determine to be a Mystic or Dreamwalker). Her followers would offer secrets to her in the form of burnt offerings, via writing the secret on paper and then burning it. It is rumoured but currently unsubstantiated that burning the secret and offering it to Nimbus will make the offerer forget it. There were no other items or objects of significance associated with her save the Jug of Living Breath which she gifted to Orion after he won her favour, and even then it was a normal jug until she blessed it. She is documented as having minimal interactions with any of the primordials outside of the Matter States. **Liquid: Rusalka the Tidecaller - Primordial Spirit of Adaptation** Currently known as Vector Prime. She had the smallest collection amongst the stacks of books provided about the 4 Matter State Primordials. There was one translation of a book titled Adaptation of the Primordial Hunting Guide, which indicated as follows. Every Primordial is different, each strength and weakness follows the understanding of the Concept they are tied to as well an understanding of them as the world views them and how their own powers present and show themselves. One can typically take this from their epithet “Spirit of x” where x equals whatever they are the spirit of as it shows a lot and their weaknesses are always involved with what they represent. In this case with Adaptation being to survive, and by creating enough variables, she would hopefully get overwhelmed and obsessed with trying to adapt to all of the different variables that she would let down her guard. The hunting guide also indicated that Rusalka was able to change and absorb liquid-adjacent aspects of the environment around her, like changing mud into drinkable water, transmuting toxic waste to harmless foam, or something to mercury, or even any surface liquid into lava provided there is enough heat. She is also documented as being capable of manipulating pressure and buoyancy in liquids, taking any shape, and imitating the forms of others. She was described as always being in a state of motion and could control her speed and mimic some abilities of the the Primordials, like Nimbus’s phasing or Atlas’s [information missing] While Rusalka was the first of the Mantlemourne Primordials to lose her mantle to the Fey, there was no indication that after she had her mantle taken from her that she had a change in personality or self like seen with Solus becoming Ifrit. She was often viewed as the most melancholic and most devastated by Solus’ fall from grace. She gave Orion the bow of mercury out of necessity of what needed to be done to quench the heart of her brother, rather than the want of stopping him. There was nothing about items important to her or offerings or anything in the hunting guide about weapons particularly useful against hunting Primordials. Interesting to mention that Rusalka was considered to be the less gifted/lucky twin of the Spirit of the Tempest, despite how close they were and even being named twins. Unsure as to if the Spirit of the Tempest is related to the Nature Primordial or someone else who called themselves the Spirit of Nature. **Solid: Atlas the Stonespeaker - Primordial Spirit of Endurance** Current status [12/24]: living in Atlas City, as God King of at least some of the Anikami. Was preparing for war with the Domed City for the liquid thing, hopefully mollified because we fixed it. Current status and location is unclear, as we do not have enough data from outside of the dome encompassing Mukai City to be able to triangulate. <- Information Out Of Date Regarding the Fey - Atlas, as conveyed to an interviewer through a Primordial Pact, believed (at least at the time, which due to context we can assume was prior to the self-imposed exile) that if given the opportunity, he could have seen through the trickery of the Fey, and said that the only thing that stopped him was that he was not given permission. We can presume that this was permission from the other Mantlemournes, but the specifics of why are not stated. He had held the Fey in ill regard to begin with, being inclined towards suspicion towards everyone not part of the Primordials. He said that the Fey had, from the start, presented “only promises made of air and darkness” and that their betrayal was inevitable. While the pact-maker had originally summoned him to ask about what the intent for the universe was prior to the introduction of seasons by the Fey, it was apparently nigh impossible to get Atlas to speak of it (stating that it was a relic of an earlier time) and that he was much more inclined to expound on the fey problem. Regarding the Primordials - Even apart from his general distrust of outsiders, he further felt separated/othered from the rest of the Mantlemournes by way of his age (youngest) and his complexity (more in line with Nature (Pan) and Reality (Stoic), who are said to have drawn inspiration from his concept and creations for their own creativity). Atlas was also one of the most frequent targets of primordial hunters due to the power that his concept and mantle presented, being that he had created the ability for planets to exist and the elements which made them up. His title as spirit of Endurance was regarding, at least in part, carrying the burdens of the primordials at large (but especially those of the Mantlemourne).
