The Fey are a species comprised originally of refugees from the dead universe of Tyr, who later gained physicality through making deals of bodysharing with native denizens of our universe. Most currently existing Fey became Fey through a process known as Ascension, where through joining a court one gradually replaces their fundamental blue matter composition with red matter. This process is irreversible, but comes with a variety of benefits to the ascendant.

As of (8/26), the Fey are organized into the Seelie and Unseelie courts, which respectively represent the seasons of Spring and Summer (Seelie) and Autumn and Winter (Unseelie). The Seelie and Unseelie courts each have four associated crowns, with two monarch crowns which represent their seasons and two crownlord crowns representing concepts closely tied to the Fey themselves.
