The Portent is a known mask who appeared in one of the three visions given by the Tomb of Tulara during our investigation contemporaneous with the Fort Granite maneuver. She appears to have been working for the Grimm in an unknown capacity, as indicated by a statement regarding being rewarded in some way for bringing him the soul of an Ashir after the three Tulara instances were killed by the Death Wave while holding an interrogation of her.

She was captured after some effort on the parts of Discipline and Intuition, and brought to a pre-prepared location where Harmony was waiting. The interrogation itself was regarding the manner of disappearance of the Nightmare Child, something that it is implied that the Reapers had some sort of hand in. Her assertion was that the Child was taken into the Void through the Ash Gate, which is the door to the Void that the Loremasters (by way of the Clockwork Coven) guard and use to maintain their access to the Void. Tulara was killed by the Deathwave before any further information could be gotten from her, although when she attempted to soul siphon Discipline they apparently immediately returned to life (albeit without memory of either of the other two Tulara instances) and attempted to attack her, causing her to flee with Discipline in pursuit.

Her identity, current status, and overall relevance is unclear at best.

Avelona the Portent has revealed herself to be a Sorrow of the Grimm, which makes her (along with The Descent) one of the two highest ranked reapers that the Dreamwalkers have met thus far. She was present both at the first meeting that the Grimm called with the Dreamwalkers after our reappearance in the Dreaming after the flood, and at the Council of Mundania Prime as an emissary of the Grimm
