Sios, the Rebel Maiden

First holder of the Crown of Winter’s Grace (now defunct); bonded with Anzu Dawnsinger

Sios was the disciple of Queen Khione before her death at the hands of Queen Gaimraith, and was the second bearer of the (now altered) Crown of Winter’s Grace as the first Winter Maiden.
Pact with the Elves
She was for a time being hosted by Anzu Dawnsinger as a sign of good faith between the elves and Fey. Unfortunately, one day they, along with Battlemaiden Frey and Maeve, learned that Gaimraith had murdered Khione. They confronted the Blood Queen, but she had made the Maiden crown into a weapon against its wearer. Gaimraith rendered Anzu completely unable to move to help her friend and defeated Frey, taking her crown. While Frey’s familiar protected her and helped her escape, Anzu was helpless before the Blood Queen’s fury. Sios pled her loyalty in order to spare Anzu’s life, and the Blood Queen severed their bond, banishing Anzu from the Dreaming.
Conflict Between the Courts
At some point, the Blood Queen killed Sios, or had her killed. Given that Sios is remembered as the “Rebel Maiden,” we can take a fair guess at what may have happened.
After Sios’s death, Gaimraith and Kalloch sought a more compliant Maiden to take the Crown of Winter’s Grace.
